If Lawmakers Won’t Change the Law, We Need to Change the Lawmakers

Do the math: There are about 6,000 registered individuals in Nebraska. If each of those people influences the vote of just four family members or friends, it adds up to 24,000 votes.

It is time for Nebraskans Unafraid to start flexing muscle at the ballot box. As the saying goes, if lawmakers will not change the law, then we must work to change the lawmakers.

If you are a former felon and it has been two full years since you completed all the terms of your sentence, your voting rights are automatically restored in Nebraska. (There is an exception for treason).

If you completed your sentence more than two full years ago, register to vote. Follow voting and election news at Nebraskans Unafraid’s new voting resources page. Most importantly, tell your voting family members and friends what they should look for when casting their ballots.

We will keep you informed about elected representatives’ records on issues that are important to you.
